Who, among eight world class female noseriders invited to compete with eight world class male noseriders, nose to nose, for the first time in the history of professional surfing, will get the most cumulative nose-time on a series of magnificent waves at world famous Malibu Surfrider Beach?
On one perfect day in October, the center stage will be set with multiple cameras rolling, at world famous Malibu Surfrider Beach, as the performances of our invited highly skilled noseriders are broadcast live at MalibuNoseRiding.com.
Throughout summer, we’ll build a worldwide mobile-media following when we release video content through social media as significant developments occur and we release announcements through our social media channels on Facebook (where we have ~2,000 “likes”), Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. For example, we will make announcements, including video highlights, when major sponsors sign on; when a contestant accepts our invitation and they are profiled along with their noserider surfboard design; when our wave-trackers identify incoming storms and ultimately select the day when ideal surf conditions are forecast, and we educate our audience about weather patterns that impact the ecosystem of our environment.
We’ll produce short 2-minute videos to educate our audience about the importance of water quality in the surfzone. TheBay Foundationwill use their expertise to showcase the success of the Malibu Lagoon Restoration project, and the importance of restoring wetlands to protect beaches from sea level rise and water quality in the surfzone. TheSurfing Heritage and Cultural Center(SHACC) will provide their expertise to help create historical surfing video vignettes, which will highlight the history of Malibu and its influence on surfing, surfboard design and surf culture.
